Gr. 7 & 8 News

Pumpkin Painting Challenge

Some grade 7 and 8 students took part in the first annual pumpkin painting challenge in the weeks leading up to Halloween. I expected some cool pumpkins, but was absolutely blown away by what came through the doors. The chatter in the hallway from students and staff created quite the buzz and raised the spooky levels around the Forrest Elementary. The favourite pumpkin was decided by a vote. After a tough decision for many, the winning pumpkin was Gru and Bob designed by Elia Blerot and Lucy Hutton. They were the lucky winners of a Starbucks cup and gift card - nothing like a PSL to get in the fall spirit! Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all participants. I'm looking forward to next year!

Grade 7 Science Structures

The grade 7 class built some unbelievable structures for a recent science unit. It's always exciting to see what kids can produce with an idea, some time, and a lot of creativity. The results are usually great, but this group of projects exceeded expectations. It is clear that a lot of time and effort was put in to these projects (a couple of snow days probably helped too!!) Thank you to families for your help and support - it wouldn't be possible without you.
